Expansion variants
The rear panel ships what most deployments need. The mainboard carries more.
Beyond the standard I/O, the AX-234BT board provides internal headers for an additional 4× COM, 4× USB 2.0, and an 8-bit GPIO block — available as a configured variant rather than a field upgrade.
| Expansion | Standard panel | Via internal header | Total available |
|---|---|---|---|
| COM (RS-232) | 2× RS-232/422/485 | +4× | 6× |
| USB 2.0 | — | +4× | 4× |
| GPIO | 8-bit | 8-bit block | 8-bit + expansion |
How these are delivered
The headers sit on the board, so taking them out means either a ribbon-cable and bracket kit, or a custom rear I/O panel machined to your layout. Both are handled as part of an ODM configuration — we specify the panel, cut the aperture, and ship the unit assembled and tested, rather than sending you a box of cables.
When this matters
- •Legacy line integration — six serial devices (PLCs, scanners, weighing terminals, printers) on one unit, no USB-to-serial adapters
- •Sensor and actuator I/O — the GPIO block for interlocks, status lamps, e-stop feedback, or relay drive
- •Low-speed peripherals — USB 2.0 for dongles, keypads, and instrument controllers that do not need USB 3.x bandwidth

Custom rear I/O panel variant for expanded serial and GPIO
Specify the expansion set at RFQ. MOQ 100 units for a custom I/O panel, approximately 35-day lead time. For a small evaluation batch, we can supply the bracket-and-cable version instead.
Not sure which ports you need on the panel? Send us your device list and we will map it to a panel layout before you commit to anything.

Every AX-234BT gets 18h + 18h burn-in and hand-verified interfaces
Not a sample. Not a self-test script. Two working days of testing per unit, with real tools and a paper trail against the serial number — because the failure mode you care about does not show up in the QC bay.
Watch the tests
Same AX-234BT batch that ships to customers.
CAN Bus verification. Native CAN FD controllers exercised with USBCAN protocol analyzer and SSCOM. Frame ID integrity, payload correctness, bus timing verified line by line — not just “link OK.”
Full-function burn-in. All cores under sustained load, DDR stress, storage cycling, thermal monitoring on CPU/VRM/DDR. 18 hours bare-board, then again in the assembled enclosure.
On the bench
The real tools we use — not scripts that report “OK” without doing much.

Live QC bay in Shenzhen. Each unit sits at its own station with dedicated tooling — not a shared batch line.

SSCOM logs every CAN frame with a timestamp. When we say the port passed, we mean the specific frames arrived in the specific order at the specific rate.

“CAN test bench uses USBCAN as the send node and the AX-234BT CAN port as the receive node — frames verified line by line on both ends. Not ‘link OK,’ but the specific frames arriving in the specific order at the specific rate.”

Every NIC gets its MAC and branding string flashed — and yes, this shot shows a first attempt that failed. It was re-run and passed. Real QC records both.

AX-234BT — Frequently Asked Questions
What processor does the BITECH AX-234BT use?
The BITECH AX-234BT runs the 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1345U (Raptor Lake-U): a 10-core / 12-thread CPU (2 P-cores + 8 E-cores) with 12 MB L3 cache and up to 4.7 GHz turbo, at 15 W base / up to 55 W maximum turbo power (configurable). It is paired with dual-channel DDR5-5200 (up to 64 GB) and Intel® Iris® Xe graphics (80 EU).
Is the AX-234BT fanless, and what is its operating temperature range?
Yes — the AX-234BT is fully fanless, using an extruded aluminum unibody as a passive heatsink. It operates from -20°C to +60°C and is validated at 100% PassMark CPU/GPU load with no thermal throttling (storage range -40°C to +85°C). With no fan, there is no air intake to clog with dust in factory environments.
Can the AX-234BT run edge AI and OpenVINO™ vision without a discrete GPU?
Yes. The AX-234BT runs OpenVINO™-optimized vision and inference on its integrated Intel® Iris® Xe graphics (80 EU) with dual-channel DDR5-5200, handling multi-camera AOI and real-time object classification without a discrete GPU. For heavier workloads — multiple high-resolution LiDARs or several concurrent deep-learning camera streams — BITECH's discrete-GPU AX-422HBT is the better fit.
Does the AX-234BT support out-of-band remote management?
Yes. The AX-234BT's second LAN port (Intel® i226-LM, LAN2) supports Intel® AMT for out-of-band management — remote KVM, BIOS access, power cycling, and OS recovery that work even when the host OS is unresponsive. A discrete TPM 2.0 module and hardware watchdog further support unattended, 24/7 deployment.
What Ethernet ports does the AX-234BT have, and can it separate OT and IT networks?
The AX-234BT has two 2.5GbE ports on independent controllers: LAN1 (Intel® i219) and LAN2 (Intel® i226-LM with AMT). The two separate controllers let integrators keep OT traffic (machine control, vision) on one port and IT traffic (MES, remote service) on the other — on a single device, without an external switch.
What industrial I/O does the AX-234BT provide?
The AX-234BT provides 1× CAN 2.0A/B, 2× RS-232/422/485 (expandable to 6 via internal header), 8-bit GPIO, LPT and SPDIF, plus 3× USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A and 1× USB Type-C (USB + DP-Alt). Display outputs are HDMI 2.1 (4K@60Hz) and Mini DP 1.4b (4K@60Hz), with optional LVDS/eDP.
Is the AX-234BT suitable for AGV / AMR mobile robots?
Yes. The AX-234BT accepts DC 9–36 V wide input — covering 12 V and 24 V battery buses directly — via a locking Phoenix terminal, and is validated to 15 G / 11 ms shock and 1 Grms vibration (5–500 Hz). Its fanless, cable-less, jumper-less design removes the parts that typically fail under vehicle vibration, while CAN plus 4G/5G and Wi-Fi (M.2 B-Key and E-Key) cover motor/BMS communication and fleet connectivity.
What is the AX-234BT's product lifecycle and OEM/ODM minimum order quantity?
BITECH maintains the AX-234BT for a 10-year product lifecycle with formal Product Change Notification (PCN). Light customization — port layout, 4G/5G + Wi-Fi pre-integration, storage, branding, pre-loaded OS — is supported from MOQ 100 units, with NRE refundable at 2,000 units and roughly 1-3 Month lead time for standard light customization.
What operating systems and storage does the AX-234BT support?
The AX-234BT supports Windows 11 Pro and Ubuntu Linux with a validated BSP. Storage is triple-path: 1× M.2 M-Key 2280 (PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe) + 1× 2.5″ SATA + 1× Half-slim SSD — letting OS, data, and logging run on separate independent drives.
