The AX-130BT is built around a modular CPU mainboard that supports Intel® Core™ i3/i5/i7 processors from the 4th all the way to the 14th generation. The same chassis, the same I/O layout, the same mounting footprint — yet integrators can pick the exact compute tier their project needs today, and upgrade in-place years later without re-certifying the system.

The default configuration ships with the 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1345U (10C/12T) and DDR5-5200 memory, paired with dual 2.5GbE, dual CAN bus, six COM ports and a wide 9-36V DC input with remote power on/off. Every interface is brought out directly from the mainboard — no internal cables, no jumpers, no fans — inside a unibody extruded-aluminum enclosure rated from -20°C to +60°C.

This makes the AX-130BT a long-life embedded platform for AGV/AMR controllers, multi-axis motion control, smart-manufacturing edge gateways and in-vehicle computing — projects where the BOM must remain stable for 5–7 years while compute requirements continue to evolve.

CAN and RS485 isolation on the AX-130BT is a configured option, not a fixed feature. Isolation is an electrical-environment decision, so we fit it where physics demands it and leave it out — with its cost — where it doesn’t.

AX-130BT engineering questions

How does the modular mainboard actually reduce re-certification cost?
The AX-130BT separates the CPU module from the base I/O board. The chassis, mounting footprint, I/O layout, and connector positions stay identical across Intel 4th to 14th Gen Core i3/i5/i7 — only the compute module changes. So when you upgrade the processor years into a deployment, the mechanical design, EMC profile, and any product-level certifications built on that mechanical/I/O design don't have to be redone. For OEMs on multi-year programs, that's the difference between a module swap and a full system redesign-plus-recertification cycle.
Can a fanless chassis really sustain the i5-1345U at full load without throttling?
The default 13th Gen Core i5-1345U (10C/12T) is a low-power U-series part, which is what makes passive cooling viable. The extruded-aluminum unibody acts as the heatsink, and the platform is validated for 24/7 operation across -20°C to +60°C. For workloads pushing sustained turbo, request the thermal validation report for your ambient and duty cycle.
What's the difference between the AX-130BT and the AX-134BT / AX-234BT?
All share the modular mainboard architecture. The AX-130BT is the balanced controller: dual 2.5GbE, 2× CAN, 6 COM — sized for AGV/AMR and multi-axis motion. The AX-134BT raises network density (4× independent GbE) for field-level control and network segregation. The AX-234BT is positioned as the communication/edge gateway. Does the AX-130BT have isolated CAN and RS485?
Isolation is a configured option, not a fixed feature — because your deployment decides whether you need it. For AGV/AMR motor-drive networks, long multi-axis cable runs, vehicle power buses, or high-EMI floors where ground-potential differences are real, we fit isolated CAN and RS485 4000V. For clean cabinet installs with a unified ground plane, we leave it out and take the cost — and the added interface latency — out with it. This keeps the platform cost-effective without leaving exposed designs unprotected: send us your grounding topology and field-device list and we'll specify the right configuration. Does it support CAN FD, and is it backward compatible with CAN 2.0?
Yes — 2× CAN FD channels, with hardware controllers rather than USB bridges, so timing stays deterministic. They are backward compatible with low-, medium-, and high-speed CAN 2.0A/B, so legacy sensors and modern high-bandwidth robotics networks connect without external converters.
Which Ethernet controllers are used, and can I segregate control from IT traffic?
Dual Intel I226-AT 2.5GbE industrial controllers, each on an independent MAC/PHY. That lets you put deterministic control or GigE Vision traffic on one port and supervisory/MES/cloud uplink on the other, physically isolating the subnets so heavy IT traffic never congests the control lane.
How does the modular CPU upgrade work in practice — do I redesign anything?
No system redesign. The compute module mates to the carrier through board-to-board connectors; the carrier carries your I/O, power, and mounting. To move from, say, an 8th Gen to a 13th Gen Core within the same family, you swap the module and revalidate firmware — the enclosure, cable-less internal routing, and external I/O stay put. This is why we commit to a long platform lifecycle: the part most likely to go EOL (the CPU) is the part designed to be replaceable.
What is the guaranteed lifecycle and how are component changes handled?
As a modular SOM platform, the AX-130BT is supported on a 10-year platform lifecycle . Any unavoidable component change triggers a formal PCN with EOL management ahead of the change, giving your team time for last-time buys or re-qualification. Every unit also passes a 100% 18-hour full-load burn-in before shipment.
Can the I/O, BIOS, and enclosure be customized for an OEM batch?
Yes. As a PCB-level OEM/ODM manufacturer, BITECH customizes the carrier I/O mix (CAN/COM/LAN count and isolation), BIOS branding and defaults, OS pre-installation, and factory-applied conformal coating for harsh environments — typically 1–3 months from requirements to first articles, with batches from 50 units. Is it suited to in-vehicle and outdoor cabinet deployment?
Yes, within its rating. DC 9–36V wide input with reverse-polarity, over-voltage and over-current protection matches 24V/36V vehicle and cabinet buses; remote power on/off, 15G shock and 1 Grms vibration tolerance, and the fanless cable-less build suit special-purpose vehicles, EV chargers, and roadside enclosures. For these deployments, evaluate the isolated CAN/RS485 option above, since vehicle and outdoor environments are where ground-potential differences and surges are most common. Operating range is -20°C to +60°C; for wider temperature, ask about extended-temp configurations.
